YOUTH PRACTICE
Children learn best when they enjoy the process of learning. Our youth program is built around that simple idea.
Some children arrive excited to wrestle. Others are quiet, cautious, or simply curious to try something new. Every child begins from a different place, and moves at their own pace, and the program is designed for all of them.
Practice gives them that opportunity. Through games, movement, problem solving, and partner work, students gradually build confidence, coordination, resilience, and friendships. Along the way, they learn Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, but they also learn something larger. They discover how to work with other people, how to stay patient while learning something difficult, and how to return after making mistakes. Those lessons last much longer than any individual technique.
Classes for ages 5-7 and 8+, Mon, Wed, Fri, and Sat, 60 minutes, small groups.

How we Teach
Children learn through movement.
Every class includes games, technical instruction, partner drills, and light, supervised practice with a partner, matched to each child's age and experience. Each activity builds on the next, allowing children to explore new ideas while developing confidence through repetition.
We return to the same fundamentals throughout the year. A six-year-old and a ten-year-old can work on the same technique and find completely different details in it. Younger students build balance, coordination, and body awareness. Older students take on more complex technical and strategic ideas. Progress comes one class at a time.

Learning Together
Jiu Jitsu is an individual practice learned in a group. Kids quickly see that good training partners help each other improve: they celebrate wins, encourage each other through hard moments, and learn that everyone develops at a different pace.
Older students often help younger ones, and they remember what it felt like to be new. Younger students see what steady practice can become.

For Parents
Parents are always welcome to stay and watch practice, and many do. We like having families around the academy, and the conversations after class are often as useful as the class itself.
Classes are structured and unhurried. Kids are encouraged to ask questions, try things, and make mistakes without worrying about getting everything right the first time. Safety and respect is a priority, with time every class spent reviewing how to train safely and act respectfully towards each other.
First class is free. Contact us with any questions and to plan a time to visit.
Plan Your Visit
Come see a class. Parents are welcome to watch, and children are welcome to try one. Tell us a little about your child, and we’ll suggest the best way to start, whether that’s a trial class, or simply a visit to watch.
There’s no need to decide everything before you reach out. We’ll help you find the right first step.
